Johannesen/Furu/Sandbakken's debutalbum, Kayak, is nominated for Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannsprisen) for the best jazz album in 2009! The winner will be announced on a big TV show on TV2 on the 6th of March.

This autumn I will start my masterstudies in performing jazz/improvisation together with drummer Dag Erik Knedal Andersen at The State Academy of Music in Oslo. I have also recieved a travel grant from the Fund for performing artists for a stay in New York.

Exciting news for 2009: REVOLVER! will play two shows at by:Larm in February as well as touring Europe in April. The new trio with Petter Wettre and Paolo Vinaccia will do two concerts in January. For more concerts check my schedule. Also two new records due to be released sometime in 2009: Chiba and the duo with Svein Magnus Furu.

In the end of November Svein Magnus Furu and I will record our debut album as a duo. The album will be released by the fine Lisbon-based label Creative Sources, probably sometime in spring 2009. Thanks Ernesto! Check out Creative Sources.

Just been at Musikkloftet in Oslo recording an album with two great Australian musicians, Jeremy Rose on alto sax and Alex Masso on drums, as well as my good friend Adrian Mhyr on bass. More info about release date will come.

I won the 1st prize in the guitar category at Nõmme International Young Artists Competition in Tallinn 22-24 mai. The prize gives me performances at festivals like Pori Jazz, Turku Jazz, Rigas Ritmi & Juu Jääb.
